Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has been entrusted with the construction of the new Armed Forces Headquarters Complex in Asokoro, Abuja. At the recent groundbreaking ceremony, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, emphasised the deliberate choice of Julius Berger for this vital project, citing the company’s history of efficiency and reliability in executing sensitive undertakings.
=General Musa highlighted the pressing need for the new complex, stating that the current headquarters in Garki, Area 10, originally intended as a temporary location, has become grossly inadequate. “The location of the new complex, surrounded by the Mpape and Asokoro Rocks, offers enhanced security and functionality,” he explained. Commending Julius Berger’s excellence, he noted, “We engaged Julius Berger not just because they come highly recommended, but because they have a proven record of delivering sensitive projects efficiently and on schedule.”
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also praised the military’s dedication and resilience, acknowledging their unrelenting efforts in combating insurgency. Encouraging the Armed Forces, Tinubu said, “You have never lost a war before, and you will win this war.” He challenged stakeholders to ensure that the first phase of the project is completed before the end of his administration, declaring, “This must be a priority, and work must start immediately.”
Julius Berger’s Managing Director, Engr. Dr. Peer Lubasch, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to deliver such a monumental project. “For 60 years, we have been entrusted with Nigeria’s priority infrastructure, and for 60 years, we have delivered with reliability, integrity, and professionalism,” he said.
