The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to youth leadership development, nation-building and institutional sustainability, while pledging sustained collaboration with government at all levels to promote youth empowerment.

The organisation made this known at a media parley in Ikeja, Lagos State, while unveiling its 2026 agenda under the motto “From Vision to Legacy” and the national theme AMPLIFY.

Speaking during the engagement, JCI Nigeria President, Mr Akinbode Abitogun, alongside members of the national cabinet, outlined key programmes and initiatives aimed at delivering long-term impact across communities and generations.

Abitogun said JCI would continue to support the government initiatives focused on equipping young people with leadership skills, entrepreneurial capacity and civic responsibility, stressing that youth empowerment remains critical to tackling unemployment, promoting social inclusion and driving sustainable economic growth.

JCI leaders also called on the media, corporate organisations, development partners and the public to support youth-focused programmes and efforts geared towards strengthening institutions in the country.

As part of its 2026 activities, the organisation announced the forthcoming Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Programme, a globally-recognised initiative that honours exceptional young Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 40 who have demonstrated leadership, innovation and service in their various fields.
