From Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja
The Igbo Elders’ Consultative Forum, yesterday, implored President Bola Tinubu to release detained Nnamdi Kanu as a condolence gift to Igbo over the death of former President General, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
The Igbo elders made the demand during a condolence visit to the late Chief Iwuanyanwu family by the Ohaneze Ndigbo in the United States chapter.
Chairman, Igbo Elders’ Consultative Forum, Chief Simon Okeke, who spoke on behalf of the elder statesmen, recalled that Chief Iwuanyanwu’s last visit to Abuja was to the facilities of the Department of State Services (DSS) to see Kanu.
Therefore, Okeke urged President Tinubu to listen to the voice of the people and release Kanu to douse the tension and insecurity in the South East. “Tinubu should listen to the voice of the dead and release Kanu.”
