Ita Faaji building collapse: Akiolu, Adebutu others donate cash, relief materials to victims

Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Jide Idris, has thanked Nigerians for responding swiftly to the government’s call for donations of blood, cash and other items for the victims of recently collapsed Ita Faaji building in Lagos.

This followed the collapsed of the three-storey building at Martins Street, Lagos penultimate Wednesday, killing about 20 peoples, including school children.

Idris, who spoke while receiving donations from the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akilu, Chief Adebutu Kensington and the Spectrane Nig. Ltd., said the gifts will go a long way in soothing the pains of the victims as well as quicken their rehabilitation.

While Oba Akiolu and Chief Adebutu donated N10 million each Spectranet Nigeria Ltd. donated N5 million

The Chivita Nig. Ltd., also supported victims of the collapsed building with drugs worth several millions of naira.

The state government had already instituted a five-man panel to investigative the cause of the collapsed building as well as make recommendations on how to avoid such a disaster in future.
