The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has expressed outrage over the trial and sentencing of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, claiming the case has exposed flaws in Nigeria’s justice system.

In a statement signed by IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the group alleged that the court used a repealed law to convict Kanu, even though no victim or witness came forward to testify against him.

The statement further claimed the court dismissed eight charges against Kanu but used the same facts to convict him on the remaining seven counts.

IPOB is urging Nigerians to read the official court records, asserting that the documents reveal procedural irregularities and injustices.

The group demands a review of Kanu’s case, citing concerns regarding the rule of law and justice.
