Eze Ndigbo of Somolu/Bariga, Lagos State, Leonard Anayochukwu Agha, has warned that unless the Federal Government, under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari, addresses the insecurity in the country, Nigeria may face disintegration, which could scuttle the nascent democracy .
The monarch, in a statement to mark the country’s 19 years of unbroken democracy, said ever since the end of the civil war, Nigeria has never witnessed the current spate of killings.
While commending President Buhari for some of his achievements, which he outlined in his Democracy Day speech, Agha said a lot has to be done in the area of social welfare.
“Today, economic hardship is on the high side. So, I am appealing to Mr. President to address some of these problems, by fulfilling his promise of paying N5,000 to poor Nigerians and reopening of land borders to reflate the economy and restore jobs to millions of freight forwarders, who have lost their jobs as a result of the policy,” he said.
