The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Niger State says it has completed the distribution of election materials and is ready for Saturday’s Governorship and State Assembly polls in the area.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Prof. Samuel Egwu, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Friday.

“We are fully ready for the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections with our trained 23,000 electoral personnel already deployed to all polling units across our state,” he said.

Egwu explained that the commission was able to distribute election materials across all the 25 local government areas in the state between Wednesday and Friday under tight security.

He expressed confidence that the elections would be successful.

“We have prepared and equipped our personnel with basic electoral knowledge for the conduct of free, fair and  transparent elections. (NAN)
