THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared inconclusive, the Imo North (Okigwe), Senatorial re-run poll held on Saturday.
According to the returning officer of the poll, Prof. Arinze Agbogu, the election became inconclusive following none voting in 15 polling units with 13,000 voters across the entire senatorial zone.
He added that supplementary election would be conducted in the affected polling units before the winner would be declared. In the results announced by the returning officer in Okigwe, the APC scored 9,355, while the PDP had 4,343; in OnuImo, the APC had 3, 630 and the PDP 3,850; in Ihitte Uboma the APC scored 10,171 and the PDP 5,184 .
Also, the results in Obowo showed that the APC had 13,401 and the PDP scored 6,41, but in Ehime Mbano, the APC had 5,795 while the PDP scored 13,048 and in Isiala Mbano, PDP scored 7,076 while the APC had 6,569 votes. The overall result showed that the candidate of the APC, Benjamin Uwajumogu was leading with 48,921 votes while the PDP candidate, Chief Athan Achonu trailed with 40,142 votes.
