The Founder and Chairman, Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Ibadan, Chief Dotun Sanusi, has presented a Hummer 3 SUV to 19-year-old student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Miss Esther Mercy Oladimeji, a 300-Level student of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), who is the new Miss Oyo State.
Oladimeji emerged as Miss Oyo 2024 during a competitive pageant, which took place at the Jogor Events Centre, Ibadan, on Sunday night.
Sanusi, who was represented by Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade on the occasion, also donated bags of rice and chickens to lucky raffle ticket winners in their hundreds.
Wife of Oyo State governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde and several dignitaries attended the ceremony. In her address, Mrs Makinde enjoined the organisers to introduce mentorship programme to annual programme.
She encouraged contestants at every beauty pageant to acquire necessary skills and education in order to make way in life, instead of relying only on their beauty.
The organiser of the event, Isaac Brown thanked all the sponsors who made the event a huge success.
