IHS Towers moves to bolster national security

IHS Towers operators of telecommunications infrastructure, has taken a significant step to bolster national security in Nigeria. The company recently donated vital Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) during a visit to the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

Fatima Ibrahim-Haruna, IHS Nigeria’s Associate Director of Government Relations, emphasized the importance of telecom infrastructure in safeguarding national security. “Telecom infrastructure is integral to national security by supporting communication for defense operations and intelligence activities,” she said. “Disruptions in telecom operations can lead to significant economic losses, affecting productivity and growth.”

The NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, commended IHS Towers for the donation and reaffirmed the agency’s unwavering commitment to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure. “Maintaining law and order, and most importantly safeguarding all critical national assets and infrastructure in the nation is a core mandate to which NSCDC is irrevocably committed,” he stated.

The donation underscores IHS Towers’ commitment to promoting national security and economic well-being.

Ibrahim-Haruna pledged the company’s continued collaboration with NSCDC and other strategic institutions. Dr. Audi echoed this sentiment, calling on other stakeholders to collaborate for maximum protection of critical national assets.
