Kelechi Iheanacho has passed his medical at English Championship side Middlesbrough, according to Sky Sports
He is now set to sign on loan until the end of the season with option for a permanent transfer thereafter.
Iheanacho, 28, has a contract with La Liga club Sevilla until June 2026.
However, he has yet to score in nine La Liga appearances with Sevilla saying he does not have what it takes to compete in the Spanish top flight.
Spanish sports daily, Estadio Deportivo says Iheanacho is no longer be a Sevilla FC player from yesterday.
Iheanacho declined offers from Greek clubs PAOK and Panathinaikos, as well as Italian team Venezia in the January transfer window as he prioritized a return to the United Kingdom.
Middlesbrough will cover nearly the entire €2 million (approximately N3 billion in Nigerian currency) that the Super Eagles star is still due to receive this season.
Iheanacho has not played for Sevilla since the start of the January transfer window due to speculation surrounding his future and he also suffered a minor injury.
Middlesbrough is seventh in the provisional Championship table with 44 points from twenty-nine matches.
