Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Mr. Adesola Aina, has warned criminals to quit the state or meet their Waterloo. He told the Inspector General of Police (IGP) conference in Abuja: “We arrested 50 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and cultists. We rescued seven victims and recovered dangerous weapons and a stolen vehicle.
“My vision is to the state to configure the security architecture to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of personnel, to be professional and respect the fundamental human rights of citizens. Our operatives now leverage forensic tool, red-time surveillance digital tracking and coordinated data analysis to proactively detect, disrupt and dismantle criminal network operating within and beyond the state.
“The inter-agency cooperation and public support led to a number of recent successes in tackling crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, sexual violence, vehicle theft and ritual killing.
“We will continue to updating the public on high impact of investigations, major arrests, successful rescue operations and critical recoveries effected in the past few weeks. These breakthroughs are a testament to the professionalism, dedication and evolving capacity of the command to meet the ever-changing dynamics of crime in our society.
“The command remains resolute in its mission to ensure protection of life and property as well as maintain law and order. We have intensified its operations activities through a multi-dimensional approach anchored on intelligence-led policing community collaboration and strategic deployment of technology.
“Our aim is to assess the operational effectiveness of the units, identify challenges and implement effective solution. The command will imbibe community policing by showing commitment to professionalism. We have improved our relationship with members of the public. Delta is calm and safe.
“The command has put in place adequate security arrangement in liaison with other security agencies to protect life and property. Member of the public should be vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency. We will continue to intensify efforts in combating crimes through proactive policing, intelligence gathering and swift response to distress call.

Police Divisional Office, Ekpan arrested five suspected members of Aye Confraternity around Ubeji Market. Operatives of the Riders Unit acting on credible intelligence, arrested two suspects for possession of illicit drugs and recovered 36 bottles of illicit drugs aka Laughing gas.
Police Divisional Agbor, arrested two notorious armed robbers, who specialised in snatching motorcycles in Agbor and environs. We recovered one hammer used in inflicting injuries and one brown face mask, one short knife, one handset and a faze cap.
“Operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team [CP-SAT], in collaboration with the Special Community vigilantes cordoned off criminals’ hideouts in an uncompleted building, arrested six suspected kidnappers at the upper Agbaho area.
“CP-SAT also arrested three suspected inter-state kidnappers in a bush location in Tobia, by Airport Road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The team stormed Ohoror, Ughelli-Patani Road and neutralised a suspected kidnapper.
“Three suspected armed robbers were arrested at Ovieta Street, New Road, Ughelli who were involved in illegal arms transaction. Operatives of the Quick Response Squad raided blackspots at New Road by Ewereto Junction, Sapele and Agofure Park, Effurun roundabout, Warri.”
