Igbo youths under the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) have announced plans for a peaceful protest march in the Southeast to demand the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
COSEYL President General, Goodluck Ibem, commended Abia State Governor Alex Otti and an Abia lawmaker for their efforts in calling for Kanu’s release. Ibem disclosed in a statement in Owerri on Tuesday that COSEYL is engaged in ongoing dialogue with stakeholders in the Southeast to facilitate Kanu’s release.
Ibem stated that COSEYL is working tirelessly to secure Kanu’s immediate release from detention by the Department of State Services (DSS), expressing grave concern over Kanu’s detention without adequate medical attention.
The coalition calls on the Federal Government to consider a fair approach toward resolving Igbo grievances and urges Igbo youth and allies to stand in solidarity for Kanu’s release.
