President, Igbo Ancient Kingdom and Cultural Organisation, Enugu, Mazi Samuel Nwankwo, says ethnic and tribal agitations pose great threat to the unity and peace of Nigeria as a multi-ethnic state. He disclosed that, “Igbo is one of the most peaceful and hospitable tribes in Nigeria.

“The Igbo tribe is the pride of the nation. I am not being facetious or factitious the Igbo tribe is the number one tribe to promote the oneness of Nigeria.

“He sees everywhere in Nigeria as home. He builds, settles and develops anywhere he finds himself. How else can one promote the unity of Nigeria?”

He maintained that most people misconceived the acts of the Igbo man: “I want to make you know that the Igbo man doesn’t like trouble. This is because he knows he has invested so much.

“Making troubles could ruin and thwart all his efforts. So, he avoids trouble. He has real and genuine desire to succeed in life. He puts his money into something that will yield him good remunerations or benefits.

“Those from other parts of Nigeria that are living in the Eastern are treated with so much love. Peace is the key to development. There can only be peace where there is love and the Igbo man loves strangers.”
