An Aba, ABia State-based cleric, Bro. Samuel Ajayi of John 3:16 Ministries, Aba, has said that the problems of the Igbo in Nigeria were self made, positing that the people could not have been talking about marginalisation if they had fully embraced God and loved one another.
Bro. Ajayi who spoke, on Monday, in Aba, regretted that despite the fact that God blessed Igboland abundantly, yet they remain the worse tribe in terms of development because they refused to allow God to rule over their affairs.
“God over blessed the Igbo but we are misusing it. All the resources in Nigeria come from the East, but because we mix Christianity with idolatry, we don’t allow God to rule us that is why the people are suffering and that is not God’s purpose for us as a people.”
The cleric equally blamed the problem of the Igbo in Nigeria on love of money, lack of unity and serving God with their knowledge instead of worshipping the Lord based on the tenets of the Bible.
He was of the view that where there was no unity, there would be no progress which he said was why the Igbo were marginalised by those who are supposed to serve and be under them.
“The fact remains that we are serving God with our knowledge, deviating from what the Bible lays down and this has brought disunity, making the Igbo to be scattered all over the world, making money and taking up chieftaincy titles.
“God gave Igbo people talents, but where there is no unity, there will be no process and that is why the people (Igbo) are perpetually ruled and marginalised even by those who were supposed to be under them,” he said.
