The South East Governors’ Forum, has called on the people of the zone to disregard reports trending on the social media, alleging that the extraordinary meeting with some selected stakeholders of Igbo extraction slated for today, at the Nike Lake Hotel, Enugu, had been postponed.
The forum described the report as false and unfounded.
Chairman of the forum and Ebonyi State governor, Chief David Umahi, said the meeting would still hold as planned and called on the general public to guard against misinformation by those he described as disgruntled elements.
Umahi explained that the talk with was to chart a new cause for the Igbo agenda, adding that those behind the rumour were the real enemies of Ndigbo. He, therefore, urged all the invited guests to disregard the information.
He reminded them that the meeting would start by 7pm and urged all stakeholders to be seated by 6.30pm, while assuring that the forum had put measures in place to ensure their safety.
He warned those using social media to misinform the public to desist from such act.
