Singer and businessman B-Red has voiced confidence that his father, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, will secure victory in the ongoing governorship election.
B-Red shared his optimism on Saturday evening as the Independent National Electoral Commission continued the collation of results from the state’s 30 local government areas.
In a post on X, the singer said he was with the governor and could see signs of happiness on his face as the results emerged.
“Sitting with my dad and I can see the joy and happiness on his face …. 4 + 4 = 8 OSUN,” he wrote.
Adeleke is seeking another four-year term under the Accord Party after his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party.
He is up against APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji and Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress, with the election held across 3,763 polling units in the state.
While voting was generally peaceful in many areas, the exercise was marred by isolated reports of BVAS challenges, alleged vote-buying and disruptions at some polling locations.
Before the election, Adeleke had called on security agencies to ensure the safety of voters, electoral personnel and officials involved in the collation process.
He also urged residents to maintain peace and allow INEC to complete the electoral process.
