Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) said it is making efforts to work with the Federal Ministry of Finance, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), National Pension Commission (PENCom), Bank of Industry (BoI), and other ministries, agencies, and departments of government at national and sub national level in the interest of the country.
Briefing newsmen in Lagos to mark her one year in office, the Chairman of Council of the ICSAN, Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, said the aim of the engagements with the MDAs and other public institutions was to boost capacity and capabilities of public servants through knowledge sharing.
According to Mrs Ekundayo, professional bodies like ICSAN have critical roles to play in the development of the economy, particularly in areas of training and retraining of personnel to boost productivity, service delivery and reduce the wrong conduct of public officials.
On the issue of minimum wage, she urged the federal government and the labour unions to put the interest of the country first before their personal desires while they seek a common ground. She noted that understanding one another is very essential in a time like this as leaders across board seek way out of the current economic quagmire.
