Former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, will be arraigned before the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, today, over allegations of certificate forgery which led to his resignation last year.
The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) was compelled to open an investigation on Nnaji following evidence of forged credentials after a petition by the HEDA Resource Centre, an anti-corruption group.
There were allegations that the former minister’s discharge certificate from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was fake while his bachelor’s degree certificate was so poorly done that any curious observer could spot its inconsistencies with ease.
Although he resigned over alleged certificate forgery, Nnaji picked up the 2027 PDP Enugu governorship nomination form and eventually emerged the winner after the primary election.

He was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on July 1, after allegedly shunning previous invitations by the ICPC office for questioning.
Sources said the anti-graft commission has built a “water-tight” case against the former minister and filed criminal charges against him before Justice Abdulmalik Joyce.
Nnaji faces a herculean task to prove his innocence from various allegations, which border on corruption, including the submission of forged credentials to the National Assembly during his ministerial screening.
