I was promised automatic ticket, Ned Nwoko alleges after APC primary loss

Ned Nwoko, the senator representing Delta North, has rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary in Delta State, insisting the process that produced former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was flawed and did not reflect the will of delegates.

Speaking in an interview with Arise Television, Nwoko alleged that he was given assurances before joining the APC that influenced his decision to defect to the ruling party.

According to him, expectations of an automatic ticket and other internal agreements were not fulfilled, raising questions about fairness within the party structure.

He also questioned the credibility of the result being circulated, arguing that what has been publicly shown so far represents only a fraction of the electoral process.

“I was promised automatic ticket before joining the APC, and that understanding formed part of my decision,” he said, adding that the outcome announced did not align with what his team recorded across the wards.

Nwoko further claimed that his camp documented results and video evidence from all 98 wards in the senatorial district, which, according to him, show a different outcome from the declared figures.

He challenged the party leadership to release comprehensive ward-by-ward results to justify the declaration of Okowa as winner, stressing that transparency was necessary to avoid internal crisis.

He added that he would not accept any outcome that contradicts what he described as the authentic mandate of delegates, warning that he may seek legal redress if necessary.

Party officials are yet to respond publicly to the allegations raised by the senator.
