Daughter of transport magnate, Frank Nneji of ABC Transport, Ihuoma Julia Nneji, 34, at the weekend, lamented that the Nigeria Police neither invited nor informed her of any petition against her person, and her lawyers were not made aware, before declaring her wanted.
Nneji was recently declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre, (NPF NCCC), Abuja, for criminal defamation, injurious falsehood and cyber-stalking in a special police gazette bulletin where information about her was stated.
Reacting in a detailed statement at the weekend, the lady said she has not defamed or blackmailed anyone on her verified social media accounts or any other pages but, instead, she is the one being blackmailed and threatened by her former boyfriend, Uzochukwu, the complainant in the case.
In the statement, Ihuoma Nneji said, “I met Uzochukwu early last year, April 2024, to be precise, and we began getting to know ourselves. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned.
“This conflict between Uzochukwu and I started in August 2024, when I called off the wedding between us that was scheduled to hold in November 2024 due to unresolved issues surrounding Uzochukwu’s sexuality.
“I found out some information about him that did not conform with my lifestyle and I decided to back out of the marriage plans as it was no longer in my best interest to continue.
“In the process of investigating further, not only did I find out that he has interest in what I hate, but he had also attempted marriage several times and never admitted nor told me the truth regarding his previous marriage attempts and why they failed. I came to find out that the girl before me had left him a week to the wedding
“The lady he was supposed to marry left him a week to the white wedding over the same issues surrounding his sexuality. Not only was I misinformed by Uzochukwu of the truth, I was deceived and manipulated by so many lies that he told.
“After I had cancelled the wedding, he began to harass me, threatening my life and even went as far as claiming that I am behind a strange Instagram page spreading rumours about him, a claim that is unfounded, speculative and false.
“After the first series of threats to life that I received from him, the real trouble started when he resorted to sponsoring malicious videos to defame me.
“In September and October 2024, several videos were published simultaneously and on the same day as a way to defame, blackmail and harass me. Not only were the stories made up to make me look bad while portraying Uzochukwu as the innocent one, the contents of those videos were unverified by the two individuals who were hired to post the defamatory videos. Uzochukwu was behind the videos and was the mastermind who supplied all the pictures and chat messages between me and him to VDM and Kemi, exclusively from his phone, pictures and details that were never in the public eye.
“Details such as my full name, location, details of my profession as a nurse and private information were given to VDM in a bid to harass me and dent my image, details that only Uzochukwu knew.
“In the first video that he sponsored, he put up a false claim of blackmail against himself in a bid to make me look bad and make the public chastise me. As a result of these several injurious and defamatory posts, I filed a civil suit against Uzochukwu, which is currently in the high court of Abuja.
“Despite this issue being in court, Uzochukwu has not rested. He continues to sponsor articles and posts against me via Instagram, Nairaland, Facebook and on various blogs with misleading information against me, with the intention of tarnishing my image.
“The defamation did not stop there. He also went ahead to sponsor and fund major blogs and internet media to tell lies against me, some misinterpreting my career and true identity with the aim of making me look like a fraud. These malicious narratives are not only false but were made up and put out by him to harass, defame and make a mockery of me since I called off the wedding that was supposed to take place in November of last year.
“I have been falsely and continuously slandered, threatened, defamed and cyberbullied numerous times by him and his brother, Stanley, who have sworn to end my life and are the sponsors behind every media propaganda that you see on the internet against me.
“I had also been tipped off in my inbox by numerous people exposing the negotiations that went on behind closed doors between the two brothers and content creators. A prominent content creator and Uzochukwu are working hand in hand to tarnish my reputation and frustrate the civil suit that is in court.
“Not only am I flabbergasted by this disgusting ordeal and show of shame on the part of the Uzochukwus who have refused to leave me alone, my error was associating with someone who is so obnoxious, manipulative, downright evil and is desperate to pull me down to his level at all costs.
“However, Uzochukwu continues to use content creators as a way to distract people from the real issues at hand while hiding his identity as the true person behind this mischief.
“In the latest twist of events, they have filed a police petition against me and bought over the police to continue their harassment against me. I was not made aware, invited or informed by the police prior to them declaring me wanted.
“Uzochukwu knows my legal representatives. None of my lawyers were contacted. I have not done or committed any crime that should make the law declare me wanted.
“But in a bid to harass and subdue me, they have gone ahead to push this false narrative out with the police while using backdoor connections on their end to harass me via the police. I would also like to debunk and restate that I have never defamed anyone on my verified social media pages or with any other page. I have never blackmailed anyone as stated in some of the videos circulating online; instead, I am the one being blackmailed and threatened by Uzochukwu.
“All sponsored blog posts and sponsored commentaries are a ploy to discredit me and my family name.”
