Chukwuebuka Amuzie, a popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker better known as Brain Jotter, has responded to a viral post regarding the possible exploitation of Mike Ejeagha’s 1983 hit song ‘Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo’.

According to reports, the song recently gained traction as a result of Brain Jotter’s popular dance challenge.

On Instagram, the video has been seen 29.1 million times with over 30,000 comments, while on TikTok, it has had 19.6 million views with more than 23,000 comments.

The 93-year-old Ejeagha and his song piqued the curiosity of netizens, who expressed their kindness. Brain Jotter offered him N2 million.

Some considered it a generous sum while many have accused Brain Jotter of copyright infringement.

However, reacting to the accusations on Tuesday in a viral video, he said, “For those thinking we ripped him off or making money from this whole thing, I understand your concerns and they are very valid.

“I appreciate the fact that you want him to get value for his hard work, which is very valid, and I want you to understand that you are doing something good

“At the end of the day, no dime was made from this song by me, nothing like that. The N2 million I gave him was from my personal hard-earned money. I did that just for humanity and not for profit.”
