President Bola Tinubu

• Vows to press reform agenda

President Bola Tinubu has declared that he cannot be intimidated or scared off by opposition antics, reaffirming his ironclad commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda despite attempts to derail his reforms.

Speaking while hosting leaders of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by its Director-General and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, Tinubu dismissed critics’ efforts to pressure him into retreat. “They want to scare me off? It’s a lie,” he said forcefully. “I’ve been through this path before, and if I have to come back over and over again, I’ll do the same thing. There is no better place than your own country, and no one can build it except you.”

He stressed national unity as Nigeria’s path to greatness, urging a shared vision for collective prosperity. He insisted the country must uphold the rule of law, rejecting “the rascality of street conventions” and disobedience of court orders. “We cannot submit to the disobedience of lawful court orders,” he emphasised. “We must embrace the judiciary whether it favors us or not—this is the principle of democracy, separation of powers, and our nation’s dynamics.”

Tinubu hailed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as a vital platform to shatter poverty and ignorance, entrench freedom, and boost democratic values. He urged grassroots coordination to sustain public engagement and awareness.

Addressing economic challenges head-on, he quipped, “I took over from myself—the late Buhari was a partner. If something is wrong, fine, live with it, correct it, move on.”

In a sharp swipe at opposition figures, he questioned their track records: “Look at one of them—no one without history in this calabash. The head was chairman of the Privatisation Council; they privatised the steel industry in Delta. Is it working today? No. They privatised another man’s political party. That one said no.”

Tinubu assured supporters the reform journey would be tough but rewarding. “The life voyage is not going to be easy… I can assure you, you will not regret traveling with me. Whatever you say I do, but one thing you need from me is a promise that I won’t run away from the fight. With you, the deal is done. All I can promise is that I won’t give up.”

Governor Uzodinma briefed Tinubu on the movement’s progress, noting its role in translating administration policies into grassroots messages for deeper public buy-in. APC chieftain and former Katsina Governor Aminu Bello Masari praised Tinubu’s courage amid resistance, while National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda highlighted ongoing projects as proof of reform impacts and pledged party synergy for 2027 voter mobilisation.
