The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Suleman Mamuda, for allegedly killing his 25-year old wife, Umaima Maidawa, in Bayawa village, Augie.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bashir Usman, the incident occurred on 13th January, 2026, at about 06.30am. The suspect, he said, used the wooden handle of a hoe to strike his wife, resulting in her death, and later fled the area, but was traced and arrested following police investigation and information received from members of the community.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, Umar Mohammed Hadejia, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation and prosecution.”
