Following US President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigrants, 3,690 Nigerians have been identified for deportation.

On his inauguration day, Trump signed several executive orders reforming immigration policies, which include halting citizenship by birth for children of illegal immigrants.

Consequently, Nigerians living illegally in the US were identified by the U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

They will be sent back home by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers, who are tasked with preserving national security and public safety.

The Nigerians identified for deportation are listed in the “Noncitizens on the ICE Non-Detained Docket with Final Orders of Removal by Country of Citizenship”.

According to reports, as of November 24, 2024, there were  1,445,549 non-citizens on ICE’s non-detained docket with final removal orders.

Furthermore, the 2024 Migration Policy Institute (MPI) disclosed that nearly 46.2 million illegal immigrants live in the US.
