A 35-year-old woman, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children have been murdered by suspected hoodlums in Dorayi Chanchagi Quarters of Kano city.
The deceased, who were members of one Haruna Bashir’s household, were attacked by unknown hoodlums who broke into their home and perpetrated the act.
According to Sunday Sun findings, the woman was found in a pool of blood in her home, while her youngest child was thrown into a nearby well. A statement issued yesterday by the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the tragedy and indicated that the victims were attacked with dangerous weapons, resulting in fatal injuries.
Narrating the incident, the statement said, “Upon arrival, the police evacuated the deceased bodies and rushed them to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where they were pronounced dead.”
It further stated that the command had begun a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the brutal attack. The team of investigators led by ACP Wada Jarma, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was instructed to conduct a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice, the statement added.
The Command extended its condolences to the family, to the people of Dorayi Chiranchi and Kano people in general.
