The Bill for an Act to Amend the Federal Medical Centres Act and Establish Federal Medical Centre in Boki local government area of Cross River State, sponsored by Hon. Victor Abang, has passed second reading in the House of Representatives.

Following its second reading, the bill garnered overwhelming support from members of the House, underscoring the critical importance of extending quality healthcare services to all regions of the country.

The proposed establishment of the Federal Medical Centre in Boki Local Government Area is poised to bridge existing healthcare gaps, particularly in underserved communities, and reinforce the nation’s commitment to universal healthcare coverage.

This legislative initiative reflects Hon Victor Abang’s proactive approach to addressing healthcare disparities and ensuring equitable access to medical facilities and services across
Boki/lkom Federal Constituency.

The establishment of the Federal Medical Centre in Boki LGA will not only enhance primary healthcare delivery but also booster the capacity to manage complex medical conditions, thereby improving overall health outcomes for residents in the region.

The proposed Federal Medical Centre in Boki LGA is expected to serve as a beacon of hope in Boki/ikom Federal Constituency and beyond grappling with healthcare challenges, offering a comprehensive range of medical services, including preventive care, diagnostics, treatment, emergency response, and rehabilitation.

By expanding healthcare infrastructure and resources to previously underserved areas, Hon Abang is taking decisive steps toward achieving his (2023-27 Legislative Agenda for the Federal constituency) goal of promoting health and well-being for all constituents.

As the bill progresses through the legislative process, stakeholders,
including policymakers, healthcare professionals, and community leaders, are urged to lend their unwavering support to this vital initiative.

Together, we can realize the vision of a healthier, more resilient community; where every individual has access to the quality healthcare they deserve.
