Hensard University, the first private university in Bayelsa State, has begun welcoming its inaugural class of students. Located in Toru-Orua, Sagbama Local Government Area, the university is making history as students embark on the process of formalizing their enrollment to meet the institution’s global standards.

Senator Seriake Dickson, the university’s founder and Chancellor, led a team of deans, department heads, and other management and staff on a facility tour to ensure all facilities are in place for a smooth start.

“Gladly, our facilities are well in place,” Senator Dickson declared. “I decided to visit each of the key facilities, and I am impressed with what I have seen, especially the world-class facilities in our classrooms and hostels. I commend management and staff for a job well done.”

The tour included visits to classrooms equipped with smart boards, as well as the separate male and female hostels.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dileep Kumar expressed his appreciation for the management and staff’s dedication to the university’s timely opening and satisfaction with the enthusiastic response from students on the opening day.

“It is interesting to note that the first private university in Bayelsa State, with a global standard, is starting its first academic session this week,” Prof. Kumar said. “Plans are underway for a matriculation ceremony at a later date.”

Student Affairs Officer Mr Chidubem Onuegbu assured that all departments are working diligently to ensure everything is in order across the university.
