Lagos residents are excited and eagerly await the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to fulfill his promise of handing over 420 affordable homes to Lagosians, to demonstrate his administration’s dedication to improving access to quality housing.

The development, he noted, is part of his larger commitment to ensuring that the people of Lagos experience tangible benefits from democratic governance.

He said his administration was determined to complete all projects within his tenure, addressing the housing challenges that have plagued Lagos for years.

Sanwo-Olu gave these assurances recently during a tour of the ongoing LagosHOMS housing project at Ajara in Badary.

The Governor, who was represented by Mr. Moruf Akinderu–Fatai, his Commissioner for Housing, restated his commitment to increase the quality and number of decent homes available to the citizens of Lagos State particularly the low and medium income earners.

While inspecting the 420 home units in 35 blocks of various categories of three- two- and one-bedroom flats and interacting with contractors on site, the Commissioner expressed his satisfaction on the quality and speed exhibited towards the delivery of the project.

Akinderu-Fatai urged the contractor to escalate any identified challenge for immediate resolution adding that the delivery time should be met as agreed so that the Ministry can commission the project and hand it over to the allottees.

He expressed satisfaction on the state of the project during the inspection and feels proud of the quality of work being done.  He advised the contractors to continue to use quality building materials that provide homeowners with convenience and maintenance cost-saving advantage.

According to him, the LagosHOMS projects at Ajara, Badargy have been designed to take care of the home needs of Lagosians along Lagos West senatorial district of the State.

The Commissioner also assured all expectant home seekers in the State that all hands are on deck to make the vision of the Governor to substantially increase the housing stock for Lagosians actualized.

Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Mr. Abdulhafis Gbolahan Toriola advised contractors to sign off their building materials for the projects from the Ministry’s technical team before installation.
