Heavyweight contender David Adeleye has declared himself a free agent.
The 14-2 (13 KOs) Londoner, trained by Adam Booth, last boxed on August 16, 2025, against Filip Hrgovic, losing a 10-round decision in Saudi Arabia, and has been promoted by Queensberry Promotions, who have a significant heavyweight roster that includes Daniel Dubois, Agit Kabayel, Guido Vianello, Fabio Wardley, Tony Yoka, Lawrence Okolie, Moses Itauma and Hrgovic, among others.
Before facing Hrgovic, Adeleye had stopped Jeamie TKV and Solomon Dacres but had been stopped by Wardley.
“First and foremost, a massive thank you to everyone at Queensberry for all the years we’ve had together,” Adeleye wrote on social media.
”I’ve been with Frank from the beginning of my professional career and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities, the big nights and everything we’ve achieved along the way.
“After a lot of thought, I felt the time was right for a new challenge. I made the decision to see out my contract and not re-sign, so as of now, I’m officially a free agent.
“Now it’s time for the next chapter. I’m excited, hungry and ready to see what’s next.
“Let’s go!”
Adeleye was one of many fighters ringside at the Zuffa Boxing show in Bournemouth in June, headlined by Chris Billam-Smith’s war with Ryan Rozicki.
