Hardship: 150 women receive foodstuff from works commissioner wife in A/Ibom

The wife of Akwa Ibom state commissioner for Works and Fire Service Mrs Ebi Eno Ibanga has provided cash and food items to 150 women in Mkpat Enin local government area of the state to cushion effects of hardship prevalent in communities .

Delivering the food items and financial assistance to the women in Ikot Udoidem on Saturday , Mrs Ibanga encouraged them to utilize the funds for their family welfare adding that empowering women amounts to improving lives of the entire family members .

“I am committed to easing the economic burden of families by helping them navigate the current economic situation which has resulted in a spike in prices of basic food items.”

Ibanga who was represented by the supervisor for Women Affairs in the local government Transition Committee Hon.Mercy Bassey Usen pledged continued support for rural women and less privileged persons especially during the present economic hardship .

One of the beneficiaries Mrs Theresa Isong expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the benefactor as such kindness has alleviated her condition.

“This support means a lot. Tomorrow, I’ll buy food items for my family.” She said
