A woman’s natural hair needs more attention during this period when the weather is dry and dusty. To keep your looking good, well-kept and appealing follow these tips and you are good to go.

Ensure your hair is moisturized daily

This can be done using water, a moisturizer and oil/butter (shea butter, mango butter) to seal in the moisture at least three times a week. Moisturizing hair with the right hair care products guarantees healthy hair and growth.

Wear your hair in protective hairstyles

This includes simple braids and twists. This helps retain moisture because the hair is not exposed to the harshness of the weather.

Do regular deep condition treatment

This keeps the hair healthy and it is a more intensive routine that helps feed the scalp through massaging and the hair with the products left on the hair for 30 to 45 minutes long and covered with a shower cap.

Use wide-toothed combs

Making use of small combs causes loss of hair when trying to comb the hair. They tend to put a strain on the hair, thus pulling out much hair while combining. It is also advisable to comb the hair while still wet or damp at most.

Maintain a healthy diet

Foods (fruits, veggies and nuts) that are rich in vitamin E, will help improve blood circulation on the scalp and will in turn promote hair growth. For example avocado, carrots, almonds and cashews are great for great hair health when included in the daily menu.

Wear a satin bonnet or satin scarf before bedtime

This will ensure that the moisture in the hair is not drenched in the bedsheet or pillowcase as the case may be. Satin fabrics for hair bonnets or scarfs does not drain moisture, instead they help retain it for you.
