The Zamfara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ZACCIMA) has shown support for victims of a fire outbreak at Gusau Central Market in Zamfara State. The blaze hit areas with traditional medicine sellers and provision stores.
ZACCIMA President, Alh (Dr) Hassan Buhari Tafida Maradun, Sarkin Rafin Gusau, sent his deputy, Alh Chika Abubakar Galadima, on a courtesy visit. Galadima sympathised with the victims and urged them to trust in God.
“We decided to visit victims of the recent fire disaster to sympathise with them and advise them to leave everything in the hands of God, while describing it as a test by Allah SWT to judge their belief. If they accept it, they will see positive results in the near future,” he said.
He promised ZACCIMA’s support for its members. Plus, he praised Governor Dauda Lawal’s efforts to boost business in the state. Galadima encouraged victims to seek help from ZACCIMA. He also asked philanthropists and wealthy individuals to aid the market, where millions in goods were lost. He prayed for a quick recovery.
The Managing Director of Gusau Central Market, Alhaji Salihu Shinkafi, thanked ZACCIMA for the visit. He said the fire started at 1 a.m. but was controlled with fire extinguishers. “Allah intervened, and fire extinguishers were used to minimise the menace of the inferno in the market,” he noted.
One victim, Alhaji Naziru, lost millions in goods. He accepted it as fate. “I have accepted the misfortune with good faith. I described it as an exam by Allah SWT after a long month of prayers,” he said. Research around the market showed about N350 million in goods were destroyed.
