Three gunmen suspected to be Cultists have reportedly shot and killed a young man said to be a hustler at the popular Ehere Timber Market in Obingwa local government area of Abia State.
The gunmen numbering three were said to have stormed the market in a commercial tricycle.
It was gathered that the incident happened Thursday evening at about 5pm while the traders were closing their shops for the day’s business.
Information had it that the gunmen on sighting their target, went to the shop where he was seated and shot him severally on the neck.
Sources within the market said the unmasked gunmen ensured that their target died in the pool of his blood before they fled.
“The gunmen after killing their target popularly known as young money, while people where running helter skelter at the sound of the gunshot, walked back to a waiting commercial tricycle and drove off”.
A source expressed surprise there was little or no efforts from the traders or security personnel in the market to ensure that the gunmen were arrested.
