The Ajisope Development Initiative has lauded the federal government policy on free education in all Federal Technical Colleges (FTCs) across Nigeria.

In a statement made available to Sunday Sun in Osogbo, Osun State, yesterday, Abdulkabir Ajisope, the founder of the initiative, tasked parents to enrol their children for the opportunity.

Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, announced that the government would cover all costs in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the free package includes, not only the tuition, but also boarding, uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, prospectus, ID cards, stationery, medical services, vocational charges, utilities, security, digital learning tools, extra lessons, and even insurance.

Ajisope described the policy as the best in the education sector, noting that it would ensure equal access to education and promote technical education in Nigeria.

He noted that technical education fosters problem-solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills, leading to greater personal and professional growth, and provides the skilled workforce needed to drive economic growth and innovation.

Ajisope appealed to stakeholders and concerned authorities to avoid sabotaging the effort of the federal government, urging support of teachers and management for the success of the policy.

“President Bola Tinubu has shown to be a lover of education with the new policy on technical education. Promotion of technical education will provide the skilled workforce required to drive economic growth of a country.

“This is why Nigerians should support President Tinubu with prayer. The new initiative would provide more professionals for the country to grow and compete in development with the developed world.

“This has shown that this present administration is concerned about building a country where citizens would be self-employed and independent,” Ajisope said.
