The Chief Executive Officer of BusyBee Events, Bisi Sotunde, has disclosed that the Well Watered Garden Tribe (WWGT) had been created to enhance connections within the events and allied industries,  connecting industry professionals to learn from one another.

Sotunde, who made this known recently in Lagos, noted that “WWGT is a community for event professionals who are intentional about networking, collaborating and scaling up their businesses, like event planners, decorators, caterers and others.”

According to her, WWGT serves as a business network that fosters growth among its members by providing a platform for building healthy business relationships, knowledge-sharing and collaboration, adding that, businesses in these sectors can join by registering for the BusyBee Event Business Summit, scheduled to hold from November 21 to November 23, 2023 in Lagos, which grants them one-year free access to the community

“The advantages of being a WWGT member include networking opportunities, business support, brand visibility, access to industry experts, resources, knowledge sharing and staying updated on the latest technology trends in the event industry, exposure to International markets etc Members can leverage these benefits to enhance business growth.”

She pointed out that intra-competition within WWGT is managed by promoting a collaborative environment, stressing that members are encouraged to share knowledge, collaborate on projects and support one another rather than competing directly.

While reacting to questions on membership base, Sotunde said WWGT currently has a strong membership of 265 people cut across Nigeria and Diaspora, noting that its strength lies in connecting professionals within the event industry, making it a valuable nationwide resource.

Speaking on landmark achievements of the organisation, she said: “Since its inception, WWGT has accomplished significant milestones; proven track records of improved businesses, awards and recognitions of members, 20 wedding planners fully sponsored on a global wedding excellence retreat in Dubai, as well at the Abu Dhabi Wedding’s Show,  strategic alliances and partnerships with international markets,  relocation of some members to UK, Canada, South Africa, testimonials of members buying trucks, vehicles, new store/office opening amongst others.”

Sotunde, a top event/wedding planner, is also considered a thought leader and an influencer in the Nigerian event industry. She is the convener of the BusyBee Event Business Summit, which started in 2017.
