Students of Greensprings School, Lagos recorded an exceptional performance in the 2024/2025 IGCSE examinations, with top candidates earning multiple A* and A grades across subjects, reflecting a strong culture of academic discipline and excellence.

Leading the cohort was Temilola Maryam Afolake Okeniyi, who achieved an impressive 8 A and 1 A grades*, closely followed by Kanyekele Jasmine Njoku, who also earned 8 A and 1 A grades*, David Ayodeji Ayodele secured 8 A grades*, while Riritarioluwa Daniel Doherty and Osinachi Josh Okwara each recorded 7 A and 2 A grades*, placing them among the top five performers for the year.

Across the broader cohort, many students earned multiple distinctions in core subjects including Mathematics, English Language, and the sciences, aligning with international benchmarks for the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum. The results highlighted students’ ability to demonstrate strong subject mastery, critical thinking, and consistent academic focus.

The 2024/2025 performance reflected Greensprings School’s continued commitment to maintaining high academic standards and providing an environment that supports student achievement. Education observers noted that outcomes at this level typically indicate strong instructional systems, structured academic support, and early preparation strategies that help students perform confidently in external examinations.

These results also served as a strong foundation for students progressing into advanced academic pathways, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme and other pre-university qualifications.

Looking ahead to the 2025/2026 academic session, expectations remain high as the school continues to build on this momentum, sustain academic excellence, and equip students with the skills required to thrive in increasingly competitive global learning environments.

In a related development, students of the school produced a series of standout performances on day 3 of the MTN CHAMPS grand finals at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, playing a key role in Team MVP’s dominance across sprint events.

In the cadet (U-14) girls’ 100m, Greensprings students delivered a clean podium sweep. Ebimoboere Christopher claimed Gold in a new personal best of 12.61s, followed by Ella Udumubrai (12.97s) and Jolaade Adesanya (12.98s), who secured silver and bronze respectively.

The cadet Boys’ 100m also featured Greensprings representation, with Team MVP’s Aaron Usifo finishing on the podium with bronze.

Greensprings students continued their strong showing in the youth (U-17) girls’ 100m, where Bernice Onoriode led another 1–2–3 finish for Team MVP, ahead of Goodnews Saturday and Rebecca Enilolobo.

In the youth boys’ 100m, Greensprings student Muhammed Jimoh delivered a decisive run to win Gold in 11.09s, edging teammate Destiny Reuben, who finished with silver.

At junior (U-20) level, Greensprings athletes maintained their momentum. Ejiro Peter claimed Gold in the junior women’s 100m with a personal best of 11.81s, while teammate Tejiri Ugoh followed closely with silver, also in a personal best.

The 400m events added further medals. Greensprings student Victory Aganya won the girls’ 400m in a new personal best of 58.29s, while Jesulayomi Ogundijo led a Team MVP sweep in the youth boys’ 400m. In the junior women’s 400m, Greensprings student Elizabeth Olumide secured bronze.

By the close of Day 3, Team MVP, driven largely by Greensprings School students, topped both cadet standings with 40 points in the boys’ category and 39 points in the girls’.

The performances reinforced Greensprings School’s growing reputation for developing disciplined, high-performing student-athletes on Nigeria’s biggest youth athletics stage.
