Global Prolife Alliance (GPA) has written to the General Assembly of the United Nations over what it called “a grave and urgent matter that requires immediate attention.” The group enclosed exhibits to back its position.
The letter, which was signed by the chairman of GPA, Dr. Philip Njemanze, said: “It has come to our attention that an insidious and perilous activity is taking place within the borders of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, an activity that poses a severe threat to the sanctity of human life and the collective conscience of our global community. We are referring to the sinister practice of human organ trafficking, which has been clandestinely integrated into the national law of Nigeria through the National Health Act of 2014 (hereby referred to as EXHIBIT A3).
“Extensive analysis and preliminary investigations have unearthed a network of individuals who are actively engaged in the abhorrent trade of human organs. These traffickers have, through corruption and manipulation, managed to infiltrate and subvert the very legal framework meant to protect the lives and dignity of Nigerian citizens.
“The presence of such a law not only poses a direct threat to the people of Nigeria but also reverberates as a global menace. Indeed, it has been well over seven decades since humanity last witnessed a threat of such magnitude, one that bears a resemblance to the legalized horrors of human organ trafficking in Nigeria.
“We, the undersigned, humbly implore the General Assembly of the United Nations to take decisive action on this matter. It would be right for the General Assembly to demand an immediate repeal of the National Health Act of 2014 and its replacement with amended sections devoid of any permissiveness for the heinous act of human organ trafficking. We urge you to lend your influence and authority to halt this impending genocide that threatens the very essence of our shared humanity.
“In support of our claims, we have submitted a meticulously detailed affidavit to substantiate the allegations and provide the evidence needed to unravel the depth of this crisis.
“We earnestly seek your intervention to prevent the looming catastrophe that casts a dark shadow over humanity. The world looks to the United Nations as a beacon of hope and a guardian of human rights. Your unwavering commitment to justice, peace, and the preservation of life can make a profound difference in this critical juncture.
“Well extend our gratitude in advance for your consideration of this urgent appeal and your dedication to addressing this formidable challenge. Time is of the essence, and we implore you to act swiftly in the interest of our global community.”
