Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Austin Akobundu have felicitated Senator Chris Adighije, a former Chairman and Pro-Chancellor Federal University of Lokoja, Kogi State on his 79th birthday

Also in attendance at the birthday celebration are: Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, former Minister of Labour, Chief Emeka Wogu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, former Minister of State for Education, Chief Emeka Nwajiuba, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, former governor of Enugu State Agbazuru Agbazuru and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
Others were chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), members APC National Working Committee (NWC) and management staff of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State, led by its Vice Chancellor.
Senator Adighije, who was in the 2nd National Assembly and was the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Water Resources is the Chairman of Abia State APC stakeholders.
Speaking to some select Journalists on his 79th birthday, he said he returned all glory to God for keeping him in sound health all the years.
According to him, there was nothing he had achieved that he would if not for God’s grace and mercies upon his life.
He, however, said that the best birthday gift that would be deserving to him would be a Nigeria devoid of crisis of insecurity, hunger, corruption and other vices that had kept the country down.
Adighije expressed confidence and hope in the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to bring about a new Nigeria that every Nigerian would be happy with.
On his health that was commended by all, he said, “for grace l am looking the way l am looking. In my 79 years of my sojourn on earth l have no enemy. I forgive long before you will know. Learn to forgive easily and forget. It is difficult but I do.”
