Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah has been honoured with the Melvin Jones Fellow Award by THE Lions Club International for his dedicated humanitarian services.
The award was presented by immediate past District Governor 2022-2023 of Lions Club District 404 A1Nigeria, Lion Anogwi Anyanwu, during the district governor‘s recognition and award luncheon held at the Air Force Officers Mess, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Anyanwu said the occasion was aimed recognizing and appreciating those that had contributed and donated to the Lions Club International Foundation, which is the platform for the club’s humanitarian services.
“This year, we succeeded in serving 2.6 million people in our district 404 A1, Nigeria, and this was made possible by the Lions of District 404 A1 Nigeria. So, today, we invited them for an awards day to thank them for all their efforts in making sure that we succeed. We also use this opportunity to thank those who have contributed and donated to the Lions Club International that makes grants for our humanitarian services. And one of the recipients of the award is Enugu State governor, Dr. Peter Mbah for all the work he has done for the Lions Club Foundation from 2012 till date,” Anyanwu said.
Anyanwu, whose tenure elapsed on June 30, 2023, reeled out the achievements and diverse works and projects embarked upon during his tenure.
