The Independent National Electoral Commission has issued certificates of return to governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state, his deputy, as well as members-elect for the House of Assembly.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Abba Baba Yusuf who issued the certificates, congratulated them and said the action was in compliance with the requirements of the law.
Yusuf urged the elected members to compensate the people for their matured conduct through the exercise by fulfilling their campaign promises.
In his remarks, governor Ishaku appreciated the people for re-electing him and his deputy and promised to do better by upholding the confidence reposed in him.
“I sincerely appreciate all of you for standing by me. I promise to keep all my campaign promises. Give me peace and I will give you development. Give us your support and we can do better than we did the last time. This time, I will concentrate on building on the foundation already laid so that we can complete the structure and put the roofs”.
