Some Members of the Tumu community in Akko Local Government Area (LGA) of Gombe state have filed a lawsuit against the state governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, and the Emir of Pindiga, Ahmed Seyoji Mohammed for allegedly stopping the Senator representing Gombe Central, Muhammad Danjuma Goje from reconstructing the central Mosque in the area.
The suit also listed the state’s Attorney General and the Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy affairs as defendants. According to the group of residents under the auspices of “Tumu Concerned Residents” the suit which is on behalf of the community was filed to express their grievances over stopping the reconstruction project.
Residents of the Community who were aggrieved by the denial of the Mosque’s reconstruction projects, Mohammed Yero, Bello Ali Tumu, and Danjuma A. Mukhtari filed the suit on behalf of the community, requesting the Court to restrain the defendants from depriving the community of the development initiative.
It could be recalled that an aide to Senator Goje, Adamu Mohammed Manga has recently made the allegation while addressing the residents of the community.
According to him, the Emir allegedly stopped the reconstruction of the Central Mosque located near his palace and that of Tumu over the fear of the state governor, Inuwa Yahaya.
Manga was seen in a viral video clip obtained by our correspondent, saying that, the Emir has told him unequivocally that if he allows the project to be done by him, Governor Inuwa will dethrone him.
