The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has called on Nigerians to deepen their sense of nationalism and rally support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu amid mounting global crises.

Barau made the call on Friday, while speaking with journalists after observing the two Rakat Eid prayers at the National Eid Ground in Abuja, led by Professor Illiasu Usman of the National Mosque.

He said sustained support for the federal government would accelerate Nigeria’s journey towards prosperity under Tinubu’s leadership, stressing that the country must close ranks in the face of global uncertainties.

According to him, ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and parts of Europe, with their ripple effects across economies, underscore the need for Nigerians to unite behind their government to effectively navigate the challenges.

“What we need at this time is to continue supporting Mr President, all of us, and to continue praying for him so that he can succeed in his efforts to bring prosperity to our nation.

“The world is full of challenges, and we are not an exception. So what we need at this period is to continue to support the President and pray for our nation, because all of us who are working with him (Mr President) know that he’s determined to bring prosperity to our nation,” he said.

The Deputy Senate President also congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and across the world on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, offering prayers for unity and good governance in the country.

“May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala help our country, unite our country, and help Mr. President in his efforts to reform the country for the better and to bring prosperity to our nation,” he added.

In his remarks after the prayers, the Chief Imam, Illiasu Usman, charged leaders at all levels to decisively address insecurity, warning that development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of violence.
