The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, has commended the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Jennifer Adighije, for her achievements since she assumed leadership of the company.
Ekpo gave the commendation during the 20th anniversary celebration of NDPHC, where he praised the pace and impact of reforms under Adighije’s stewardship, noting that her performance has been both inspiring and reassuring for Nigeria’s power sector.
“I was thrilled by Adighije’s achievements within the short time she has taken up the leadership of NDPHC. I was particularly pleased that we have a wonderful woman appointed to this office who is performing excellently,” the Minister said.
He stressed that Adighije’s accomplishments aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasising that reliable electricity supply remains central to Nigeria’s industrialisation and socio-economic development.
“Without power, there will be no industrialisation, and our homes will not be energised. Listening to her outline the improvements that have taken place in the power sector gives me confidence that Nigeria is heading in the right direction,” Ekpo said.
The Minister also applauded the collective efforts of NDPHC’s management team and acknowledged the leadership provided by the Vice President, who serves as Chairman of the company’s Board.
“I appreciate her and her team for the wonderful work they are doing. This commendation also goes to the Vice President, who is providing strong leadership at the board level,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Adighije, has extended felicitations to Nigerians, calling for unity as the country works towards a more sustainable power sector.
In her New Year message, Adighije expressed confidence that with the support of President Tinubu, Nigerians will soon begin to experience better electricity supply. She reaffirmed NDPHC’s commitment to efficient power generation as a critical pillar in strengthening the nation’s electricity value chain and underscored the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders.
“Collective resolve and cooperation across stakeholders—government, the private sector, host communities, and citizens—are essential to realise the vision of sustainable power for all,” she said.
“This New Year, I urge every Nigerian to remain hopeful and united. When we support the President’s vision for a revitalised power sector, we are investing in our shared future. NDPHC is dedicated to efficient power generation, and together with the nation, we will make sustainable electricity a reality.”
