Galatasaray has left out Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen from the squad to face Bundesliga side, Eintracht Frankfurt in today’s UEFA Champions League clash.
The Nigerian forward has yet to recover from the shin injury he sustained during Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2026 AFCON qualifier in Uyo.
Osimhen picked up the knock in the first half at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium and was replaced by Cyriel Dessers.
In a post on X, the Turkish champion unveiled a 23-man squad for the trip to Germany, with Osimhen missing out on the clash at the Deutsche Bank Park.
Osimhen was absent from the team’s final training session on Wednesday morning, as confirmed by the 19 images shared on the club’s official website. His absence is a major setback for the Turkish champion, who is determined to begin the European campaign on a strong note after last season’s struggles in the UEFA Europa League.
In that campaign, Galatasaray was eliminated in the play-off round after a 6-3 aggregate defeat to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
Osimhen, who opened the season in fine form with goals in his first two starts, will be eager to recover swiftly from injury and play a key role in Galatasaray’s pursuit of success both domestically and in Europe this season.
