The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) has commenced registration for its supplementary Post-UTME screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The exercise provides another opportunity for eligible candidates seeking admission into the university, particularly those who missed the initial screening held from July 21 to 25, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the university’s Registrar, Dr E. Jane Omoyine, the supplementary screening is also open to candidates who wish to change their institution of choice to FUPRE and participate in its admission process.
Registration will close on Sunday, August 23, while the supplementary screening will take place on Monday, August 24, and Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Candidates are required to register through the university’s admission portal and pay a ₦2,000 screening fee.
To qualify, applicants must have scored at least 160 in the 2026 UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
They must also have selected FUPRE as their first-choice institution or completed the required change of institution process, alongside having at least five relevant O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
The university further stated that applicants must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026. Accepted O’Level examinations include SSCE, NECO, GCE and NABTEB.
FUPRE clarified that candidates who participated in the initial Post-UTME screening between July 21 and 25 are not required to participate in the supplementary exercise.
The institution urged eligible applicants to complete their registration before the deadline and regularly monitor its admission portal for updates.
FUPRE said the supplementary exercise was designed to give more prospective students an opportunity to pursue admission into the specialised petroleum university and advance their academic aspirations.
Established in 2007, FUPRE focuses on training skilled manpower for Nigeria’s petroleum and energy sectors and other allied industries.
