French Rafale jets collide: Pilot rescued, others missing in eastern France

By Ezekiel David

Two French Rafale military jets collided mid-air over Eastern France on Wednesday, resulting in one pilot being rescued while another pilot and a possible passenger remain missing. The incident, confirmed by French officials and media reports, has prompted an ongoing search operation.

French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu stated that one pilot had been found “safe and sound,” but search efforts continue for the missing individuals. The missing persons include a flying student who was reportedly on board one of the jets.

Local authorities, including the Meurthe-et-Moselle prefecture, have activated an operational centre to assist the armed forces in the search and have urged the public to avoid the area.

The cause of the mid-air collision is currently under investigation as rescue teams continue their efforts.
