Four Super Falcons stars named in WAFCON 2024 Best XI

Four victorious Super Falcons players were named in the CAF Women’s African Cup of Nations WAFCON Best XI of the tournament on Monday morning.

The Super Falcons secured the tenth WAFCON trophy following a comeback 3-2 victory over Morocco in the final of the tournament in Rabat.

 

 

In a post on X, CAF has released the names of outstanding players in the official eleven of the tournament.

The African ruling body named Chiamaka Nnadozie, Mitchel Alozie, Rasheedat Ajibade, and Esther Okoronkwo.

The lists also included the Moroccan trio of Karabo Dhlamini, Ibtissam Jraïdi, and Ghizlane Chebbak, who finished as the highest goalscorer with five goals, South African trio of Karabo Dhlamini, Refiloe Jane and Bambanani Mbane, the Ghanaian duo of Grace Asantewaa and Portia Boakye.

Chiamaka Nnadozie earned a spot on the list after her outstanding performances in goal for Nigeria, which saw her named Goalkeeper of the Tournament.

Meanwhile, Rasheedat Ajibade was honoured as the Best Player of the WAFCON.

Esther Okoronkwo was included in the squad following her impressive showing for Nigeria during the tournament.

She contributed two goals and seven assists, playing a key role in Nigeria’s title-winning campaign.
