Foundation celebrates two years of impact, transformation

What started as a gathering of just 10 women in one room has grown into a nationwide movement of hundreds of women healed, empowered, and thriving through the Babygirls Community, an initiative of God’s Women Empowerment Foundation (GWEF) founded by Adesewa Kofoworola Lawal in 2023.

In just two years, over 300 women across Nigeria and beyond have experienced transformation through faith, mentorship, and financial empowerment. Through spiritual growth, practical training, and community support, the foundation is helping women rediscover purpose, build sustainable livelihoods, and become beacons of hope in their families and communities.

The impact is visible and measurable:

* Over 100 women have received direct business empowerment through physical workshops, virtual training sessions, and scholarships to fashion academies.
* 25 women were trained and onboarded as real estate agents through a partnership with Go Realty and Home Sales Titans, now earning steady income as independent agents.
* Since partnering with GoLearn Africa, more than 50 women have opened savings accounts and started investing- a remarkable step toward financial inclusion for women of faith.

Among the many success stories is Miracle Dorcas, a fresh graduate who once struggled to find her footing after school. She got sponsored by the Babygirls Community for a fashion masterclass, she upgraded her fashion business. At the recent “Called and Chosen Women Conference”, Miracle returned as a facilitator, training 60 other women in crafts like hair bonnets and scrunchies. Many have started mastering the skill.

There’s also Miss Faith Irabor, whose pastry business took off after the foundation gifted her a brand-new oven. “My business has blossomed,” she said. “Now I collaborate with other bakers.”

After attending a virtual session on savings and investments, Uzoma Azona took her first step into the Nigerian stock market.

> “Before the training, I wasn’t sure how to go about it,” she shared. “Now, I’m proud to call myself an investor.”

Beyond entrepreneurship, the foundation is shaping the next generation. In October 2024, GWEF launched a school outreach program that has reached over 3,000 students across 10 schools, inspiring teenage girls with conversations on self-esteem, menstrual care, and moral values.

But for many members, it’s not just about skills — it’s about belonging.

> “Becoming part of this community made me believe in sisterhood again,” said Maryann, a first-time conference attendee.
> “Traveling from Abuja to lagos for the conference was worth it. This foundation is home,” added Chinenye Judith.

Partners also noticed the ripple effect.

> “Partnering with God’s Women Foundation was a great move,” said Victor Aro, General Manager of Go Realty. “We’ve seen real transformation happen here.”

As AKL beautifully puts it: “We’ve seen what a little opportunity can do. With the right partnerships, we can empower a thousand more women. From faith gatherings to financial training, God’s Women Foundation is proving that when women are healed, entire communities thrive.”

What started as a circle of ten women has now become a movement of hundreds women leading, building, and lighting up homes and communities across the nation. The Babygirls Community is more than a program, it’s proof that when women rise together, they change the world.
