Florentino Pérez has been re-elected president of Real Madrid after securing a commanding victory in the club’s presidential election, extending his long-standing leadership of the Spanish giants.
The club’s Electoral Board announced on Saturday that Pérez’s candidature won 21,741 votes, representing 65 per cent of the total ballots cast, while challenger Enrique Riquelme received 11,814 votes, accounting for 35 per cent.
The result confirms continued backing from Real Madrid members for Pérez, who has overseen one of the most successful periods in the club’s history, both on and off the pitch.
Pérez, a club member since 1961, will continue to lead a board that includes vice presidents Eduardo Fernández de Blas, Pedro López Jiménez, Enrique Sánchez González and Enrique Pérez Rodríguez, alongside other elected directors.
